20th Mar | Annual Dinner at The King’s Head, East Bergholt

Capel Ladies’ annual dinner was held at the beautifully refurbished King’s Head in East Bergholt on 20th March. Twenty-five members enjoyed an excellent three-course meal with a complimentary drink. There was a very happy atmosphere with lots of laughter. Members remarked on the high quality of food and the friendly staff.

Hello Ladies! Here are some of the snaps I took at our Annual Dinner. My apologies to you all for the quality of the photos. I think I will need to revert to using my camera in future rather than my mobile. I’m sorry not everyone is shown – many of you were understandably blinking at the bright flash so I did not include you.

6th Mar | Caring for your feet – talk by Julie Garwood

This was a fascinating and informative talk by Julie Garwood, a chiropodist for 28 years who has her treatment room in Capel. The talk covered the workings and structure of the foot and, with photographs, showed the various conditions which can affect the foot. These included nail problems, corns and callouses, bunions, athlete’s foot and diabetic foot.

Our members were enthralled by the very detailed information and answers to their questions, and by the advice Julie offered afterwards. At least eight ladies also consulted her.

Julie kindly donated her fee to the Somersham Ward at Ipswich hospital and ALSO donated a treatment session to a Capel Ladies’ raffle!
